History of Music - Contemporary

This course provides students with the opportunity to learn about music from the 17th-21st Centuries highlighting the development and history of music within a cultural and social context.  Students will explore various ways in which Electronic Music, Jazz, American Roots, Rock & Roll and Broadway have influenced multiple genres giving birth to contemporary music in America.
