Once Upon a Time………

Calling All Dawns is a classical crossover album by Christopher Tin released in 2009.

The album won two Grammy’s for Best Classical Crossover Album and Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalists.  The album is a song cycle in three movements; day, night and dawn, corresponding to life, death and rebirth. Twelve songs are featured on the album, each sung in a different language.  The work was featured at Burr & Burton Academy with the support of the composer for the 2012 Prisms Concert leading to the invitation to perform the New York City Premier at Lincoln Center in 2013 followed by a World Premier of his sequel work, The Drop that Contained the Sea, at Carnegie Hall in 2014. Christopher Tin again invited BBA singers to participate in a repeat performance of Calling All Dawns in 2016 at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall marking our fourth collaboration with the composer. He then invited us to perform it at Carnegie Hall in April 2019 but due to schedule conflicts we had to decline.  He recently reached out to us to perform at Lincoln Center in March of 2020 but we had to again decline this invitation due to schedule conflicts.  However, after making master calendar adjustments with the administration, I am thrilled to announce that we are now able to accept the invitation to participate in this very special offering planned for March, 2020, this time under the baton of composer Christopher Tin!
